SMOOTH RADIO SIGNS PETE WATERMAN FOR SUNDAY EVENING SHOW

The Smooth Radio network is delighted to announce that it has signed Record Producer, Songwriter and all round DJ, Pete Waterman to present its Sunday night show from Sunday 13th September.
The new networked show focused around Pete’s favourite era - the 70s and 80s will broadcast every Sunday from 6pm - 8pm on Smooth Radio across London, the East and West Midlands, the North West and North East of England and Greater Glasgow.

Pete’s music career started as a DJ, building a record collection through rare US imports. He travelled the depth and breadth of the country, entertaining crowds with a blend of R&B and soul music. Since then he has worked in the states and Jamaica before creating the trio Stock, Aitken, Waterman, for which he is widely known for today.
To date, Pete has scored a total of 22 UK number one singles with his various artists such as Musical Youth, Rick Astley, Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Steps.
Smooth Radio’s Brand Programme Director Steve Collins said: “Pete is a fantastic signing for the Smooth Radio network. He has a wealth of music and presenting experience and we can’t wait to hear him chat about the years he helped to benchmark through his DJing, producing and of course his own PWL classic hits. Brilliant! 'Kiss The Lips Of Life' Finally Comes To CD!

Last month, the excellent SAW-produced album 'Kiss The Lips Of Life' by ex-Killing Joke bassist Youth, guitarist Jimmy Cauty (Zodiac Mindwarp, Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, The KLF and The Orb) and vocalist June Montana (The Dream Academy) was released on CD for the FIRST TIME EVER by American label Wounded Bird Records.
The official Wounded Birds website states that 'Wounded Bird Records was formed in 1998 as a label that specializes in the reissue of albums from the 60's, 70's and early 80's on compact disc. All of their releases are properly licensed from the owner of the original masters, in most cases the original record label and sometimes the artists themselves. They strive to reproduce the original album cover artwork, converted to accommodate the CD size format.'
